Protecting our Hertz 24/7 members

Hertz 24/7 takes the safety of its members seriously and keeping you protected against COVID-19 is our priority. The Hertz 24/7 service will remain available at most partner sites for essential journeys, as outlined by the UK Government and we’ve taken additional measures to increase the safety of our service:

  • Increased cleaning – We have increased the number of times our vehicles are cleaned and have upgraded the cleaning products, to include a higher concentration of both antiviral and antibacterial solutions.
  • Cancellations – Our cancellation policy remains the same, which is free up to six hours before your scheduled pick-up time. Cancellations can be made via the Hertz 24/7 app or online.

To help support your fellow Hertz 24/7 members, we ask that you follow government guidelines and practice good hygiene, which includes:

Washing your hands regularly and using hand sanitiser, bringing your own antibacterial wipes/spray, keeping passengers to a minimum and only travel with others for essential journeys when necessary.

Only using us for those essential journeys as outlined by the government. These are:

  • Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible.
  • Any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.
  • For travelling to and from essential work, where work is an absolute necessity and cannot be done from home.

If you are experiencing symptoms of Coronavirus, or have knowingly been exposed to someone suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, please do not book any Hertz 24/7 vehicle for 14 days in the interest of other members.

We will continue to follow the updates on COVID-19 and the advice from the UK government, as well as the World Health Organization. There is no disruption to the Hertz 24/7 service at this time, but we will review daily and take any necessary steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our members.

You are responsible for complying with the above guidelines for use of our vehicles. Hertz shall not be liable for any loss or damage incurred by you arising from being diagnosed with COVID-19 following your rental in breach of such guidelines. Hertz does not exclude or limit its liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so.



How is Hertz 24/7 responding to COVID-19?

Hertz 24/7 takes the safety of its members seriously and your safety is our priority. We are closely monitoring COVID-19 and will continue to follow the recommendations of the UK Government, World Health Organization and Local Health Authorities.

From the information provided to date, we have taken additional measures, including increasing the frequency of our cleaning, using enhanced cleaning products and sharing guidelines with our employees, to reduce the risk of transmission and maintain a healthy workplace.

We will continue to review the situation, as it develops, and take all necessary precautions to keep our members safe. Please help support us, and your fellow members, by taking all necessary steps to reduce the risk of transmission.

How does Hertz 24/7 clean its vehicles?

To keep the vehicles available to our members 24/7, we are unable to clean between every rental. However, we have increased the number of times each vehicle is cleaned during a month, using enhanced antivirus and antibacterial cleaning products to sanitise our vehicles.

The Hertz 24/7 team and our cleaning professionals are committed to following strict guidelines to keep our employees, members and vehicles safe.

We are encouraging all Hertz 24/7 members to do the same, and protect our communities by bringing disinfectant and wipes, to return the vehicle sanitised ready for the next member.

What should I do if I’ve been diagnosed with COVID-19 and I have used one of your vehicles?

Report it to us immediately on 0207 365 4199, so we can immediately quarantine the vehicle and remove it from any future bookings. Vehicles will be quarantined for 72 hours, followed by a deep clean and sanitisation, before returning to the fleet.
